Drawing and Painting Class
(Ages 13-17)
The art classes will kick off with an exploration of dry medium materials, offering an exciting gateway into the world of creative expression. Students will learn the art of drawing with precision, capturing the essence of real-life objects and people. Along the way, they’ll dive into the fundamental elements and principles of design, unlocking the secrets behind visually stunning compositions. From exploring shading techniques to harnessing the magic of light sources, each lesson builds their artistic toolkit. Once their foundational skills are solid, students will unleash their creativity, infusing their unique vision and flair into their creative work.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR Nancy Clarke Mariani
Nancy received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Art Education from Buffalo State College. She recently retired after a 32-year career at Lancaster High School, where she served as Art Department Chairperson and taught courses in Drawing & Painting and Photography. Her work has been on display in many shows throughout New York State, and she has participated in numerous classes and workshops throughout Western New York, demonstrating skills in Figure Drawing, Soft Pastel, Watercolor, and Acrylic & Oil paint. Nancy is a member of many local arts organizations and serves on the Lancaster Opera House Board of Trustees.
